The couple I was about to photograph at Restaurant Lulu would not arrive until 8:30pm, but I made sure to get to the table across from theirs at 8pm, so I would be settled before they sat down. Although I have been photographing weddings for nearly 12 years, this was the first time I had ever photographed a marriage proposal. I had to pretend to be dining with my sister until he popped the question.
The whole restaurant staff was involved, nervously abuzz as the couple ordered appetizers, drinks, and dinner. The proposal was going to occur at dessert, when the manager handed the unsuspecting bride-to-be her dessert menu, which instead of listing chocolate delicacies and pastries simply said, “Sharon, I love you very much. Will you marry me?” When Navid got down on his knee to ask Sharon to marry him, the entire restaurant burst into applause and cheering. It was awesome!!
Congratulations to Navid and Sharon! Thank you for including us in your special surprise.
All!
What a special moment to be documented so beautifully
We’ve always wanted to photograph one of these as well! Good job Jules.
Thanks, Ben!
