A traditional Sikh ceremony in San Francisco

Sherry & Samir had a wedding spread out over two days. The first day was a very colorful traditional Sikh ceremony at the Sikh Center of San Francisco Bay Area. Sherry’s uncle tied Samir’s turban at the temple while Sherry prepared for the ceremony with her family at the Hyatt House in Emeryville. Her hair and make-up were skillfully done by Leah Herzberger of Dreamcatcher Artistry. During the ceremony, we were required to remove our shoes and wear a scarf inside of the temple. They had scarves for us to choose from, so I chose a bright blue one. These are my favorite images from Day One:
